About VoxScreen

VoxScreen is built and run by one software engineer. That's not a phase on the way to something bigger: it's why the free plan is permanent, why there are no per-seat fees, and why the support email lands with the person who wrote the code.

Why this exists

I'm Cláudio, a software engineer. Hiring for my own teams meant running every first round myself: the same questions, over and over, to find out whether someone could handle the day-to-day work. Meeting people was the good part. Watching it eat my calendar wasn't.

Then I was the candidate. I sat through half-hour calls that existed only to establish whether I could hold a conversation in English, and lost days trading messages to find a slot that worked across a hiring manager's timezone. Neither of those needed a meeting.

So I built the tool I wanted from both chairs. It scores spoken language on its own, so nobody sits through a call to prove they speak English. It schedules nothing, so nobody loses a week to a calendar. And it shows its work, so a candidate who asks why can get a real answer.

What VoxScreen actually is

A one-way video interview tool for small hiring teams. You describe the role. AI writes the questions and a scoring rubric you can edit. Candidates record short video or voice answers from one link, on their own time. Every answer comes back transcribed and scored against the rubric, and the list arrives ranked. You watch the top of it and decide. It's a screening layer that sits in front of your real interviews: not an applicant tracking system, and not an HR platform.

What VoxScreen actually is

Four things this product won't do

It will never auto-reject a candidate

No AI score takes anyone off your list. Ranking is a sort order, not a filter. Every candidate stays visible, and the call is yours.

It won't hand you a score you can't audit

Answers are scored from the transcript against the rubric you approved, and you see both. A rating you can't check is a rating you can't defend to a candidate who asks why.

It won't judge faces or guess at personality

The one signal it reads from the audio is a CEFR level, a language-proficiency band, the same scale language exams use. It isn't a read on personality, confidence, or emotion, and it never will be.

The free plan won't turn into a trial

It covers 50 candidates a month and asks for no card. It doesn't expire. Small teams hire in bursts, and a tool that locks you out between them wasn't built for you.

How to reach me

The support email goes to a real inbox, not a queue. If something in VoxScreen is broken, or a page on this site gets something wrong, write to support@voxscreen.com, the answer comes from the person who wrote the code.
