Hiring software for franchises, so every location screens to the same standard

Hiring software for a franchise has to make the fortieth hire look like the first: same questions, same bar, whichever unit manager did the screening. VoxScreen does that for the first round. An operator writes one interview per role, every applicant at every unit records answers to it, and each comes back transcribed, scored against the same criteria and ranked. Unit managers and open roles are unlimited on every plan, including a permanent free plan covering 50 candidates a month. One account is one shared view, though: everyone on it sees every unit's candidates, so it fits a single operator's units and not a franchisor wanting to keep franchisees apart.

Where screening breaks down

A franchise sells consistency and then hands hiring to whoever manages each unit. One manager hires on a gut feeling in the doorway, the next asks a list of questions from a previous job, a third hires a cousin. The brand standard that covers the menu and the uniform stops at the interview.

The operator sees the result late and indirectly, as turnover figures by location. By then the question of how unit seven screens people has become why unit seven has replaced its whole team twice this year.

Software built to fix this usually prices against it. Plans that charge per user or per open job make a multi-unit operator choose between giving every manager access and keeping the bill down, so managers share a login or go without, and the consistency never arrives.

How a round runs

  1. Write one interview per role, once. VoxScreen drafts questions and scoring criteria from the role description and the operator edits them into the house standard.
  2. Set up the same interview for each unit. Open roles are unlimited on every plan, so thirty units can each have their own link.
  3. Every unit puts its link in its postings and on its door. Applicants answer on a phone, the same questions everywhere.
  4. Unit managers review their own applicants with transcripts and per-criterion scores. Managers are unlimited and free, so nobody shares a login.
  5. The operator or an area manager spot-checks. Reading a few scored answers from each unit shows quickly which ones are hiring to the standard.

What it replaces

A different interview in every unit

When the questions and criteria are fixed centrally, a unit manager's judgement is applied to the same evidence everywhere, and a hire can be compared with a hire.

Shared logins

Unlimited seats at no charge mean each manager has their own access.

Learning about a unit's hiring from its turnover

Being able to read what was asked and how answers were scored shows a problem in weeks instead of quarters.

What it costs at your volume

Plans differ in one thing: how many new candidates you add in a month. A candidate counts once, the first time their email address is added, and never again. Everything else is the same on every plan.

The tools you're probably comparing

For multi-unit operators the decision usually comes down to what happens to the price as units and managers are added. The last two columns are the ones to read: how many users and how many open jobs each entry plan allows.

When this is the wrong tool

  • You're a franchisor and each franchisee must see only their own applicants. VoxScreen can't do that inside one account, because every team member sees every job. Separate accounts per franchisee work, and they lose the shared view.
  • You need requisition approvals, reference checks and applicant tracking across the estate from one vendor. VidCruiter sells all of those. VoxScreen is the interview step only. VoxScreen vs VidCruiter
  • You want an applicant tracking system and video interviewing on one annual contract bought through procurement. Spark Hire is priced and packaged for that. VoxScreen vs Spark Hire
  • Your units together draw more applicants in a month than the Premium allowance. Hireflix sells unlimited responses at a flat price. VoxScreen vs Hireflix

Common questions

Can each location manager have their own login?

Yes. Team members are unlimited on every plan, the free one included, and are invited by email as an admin or a member.

Can a manager see only their own location's candidates?

No. Everyone on an account sees every job and every candidate in it. For a single operator's units that is usually acceptable and often useful. If locations must be kept separate, that is a limit of the product.

Is there a limit on locations or open roles?

No. Open roles are unlimited on every plan. Plans differ only in how many new candidates are added in a month, across all units together.

Can a franchisor roll this out to independent franchisees?

Each franchisee can run their own account, starting on the free plan, using questions the franchisor supplies. What the franchisor doesn't get is a consolidated view across franchisees. VoxScreen has no parent-and-child account structure.

Can we put the brand on the interview?

Yes. Your logo and colors go on the interview pages and on the invitation email, on every plan. It is branding, not white label: the interview is served from voxscreen.com and VoxScreen's name stays on it.

If someone applies at two of our units, do they count twice?

No. A candidate counts once, the first time their email address is added to the account, however many units or roles they are later invited to.

How does it fit a franchise's existing HR or payroll system?

It sits before it. VoxScreen covers screening only and passes nothing to payroll by itself. A REST API and webhooks are included on every plan for operators who want to connect it.
