VidCruiter alternatives: seven tools compared on price and on scope
VidCruiter is a broad recruiting platform: pre-recorded and live video interviews, scheduling, an applicant tracking system, skills testing, automated reference checking and video proctoring, with SOC 2 Type II, the ISO 27001 family and a published VPAT. It quotes on request rather than publishing prices. Alternatives fall into two groups that suit very different buyers. Other suites that do a similar amount, and single-purpose interview tools that do one step of it and tell you what it costs.

Three vendors on this page publish no pricing at all, and their rows say so. Every figure that's here was read from the vendor's public pages on the date shown beside their section.

The tools in detail
VidCruiter
VidCruiter is a recruiting platform covering pre-recorded and live video interviews, interview scheduling, an applicant tracking system, skills testing, automated reference checking and video proctoring, with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 certifications and a published VPAT for accessibility.
VidCruiter doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page is a form: you fill it in and their team quotes against the modules you want. There is no stated entry price, no free plan and no trial length on the public site.
Pick VidCruiter if
- You want one vendor for interviews, scheduling, references, proctoring and applicant tracking. VoxScreen is only the interview step.
- Accessibility is a procurement requirement. VidCruiter publishes a VPAT, which is unusual in this category and is a real thing to hold up in a public-sector bid.
- You need automated reference checking or video proctoring. VoxScreen has neither.
- You're in a regulated or public-sector context where SOC 2 Type II and the ISO 27001 family are on the questionnaire.

HireVue
HireVue is an enterprise hiring platform covering live and on-demand video interviewing, assessments, interview scheduling and conversational AI agents, with integrations into Workday, SAP, Oracle and SmartRecruiters, and ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 and FedRAMP certifications.
HireVue doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page names an Essential and a Premium package and routes you to a demo request. There is no stated entry price, no seat count, no free plan and no trial length anywhere on it. Everything you would want to compare here is behind a conversation with their sales team.
Pick HireVue if
- You're a large organization and need FedRAMP, SOC 2 Type 2 or ISO/IEC 27001 on the vendor questionnaire. VoxScreen holds none of those.
- Your ATS is Workday, SAP, Oracle or SmartRecruiters and you need a deep native integration instead of a webhook.
- You need live interviews, scheduling and structured assessments in one platform. VoxScreen does none of those three — it schedules nothing on purpose.
- You hire at genuinely enterprise volume across campus, hourly and technical tracks at once, which is the shape their product is built around.

Jobma
Jobma is a virtual interviewing platform offering one-way video interviews, live and panel interviews, autonomous AI interviewing, scheduling, AI scoring, transcription and skills assessments across 16 languages, with SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications.
Jobma doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says packages are custom, based on volume, integrations and feature needs, and points you at sales. There is no stated entry price, no free plan and no trial length on the public site.
Pick Jobma if
- You screen in languages outside English, Spanish, French, German and Brazilian Portuguese. Jobma states 16, including Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. VoxScreen covers five.
- You need live and panel interviews alongside the recorded ones. VoxScreen has neither.
- SOC 2 Type II or ISO/IEC 27001 is on your vendor questionnaire. VoxScreen holds neither certification.
- You want skills assessments in the same tool as the interviews. Jobma sells technical, cognitive and role-based tests. VoxScreen doesn't.

Spark Hire
Spark Hire sells three separate products: an applicant tracking system, video interviewing, and behavioural assessment. Paid plans carry unlimited users, and pricing steps up with company size.
The video interview product is $299/mo month-to-month for up to 5 simultaneous jobs and 5 users, or $249/mo billed annually with unlimited jobs and users. The ATS plans start at $335/mo, annual only. No free plan is offered.
Pick Spark Hire if
- You want an ATS and a video interview tool from one vendor on one contract.
- You buy on an annual contract through procurement. The ATS plans are annual only and priced for that.
- You want behavioural assessment and automated reference checks in the same purchase.

Hireflix
Hireflix is a focused one-way video interview product with unlimited seats, positions and responses on every paid plan, a well-documented GraphQL API and signed webhooks, and integrations into most ATS products.
Hireflix publishes $75/mo for companies under 50 employees and $150/mo for 50 to 250, both billed yearly, with a custom tier above that and a one-month free trial. There is no permanently free plan.
Pick Hireflix if
- You interview at high volume and want one flat price instead of a per-candidate allowance.
- You already run a mature ATS and want the interview tool to plug in and stay out of the way.
- Your team prefers to watch and judge answers itself rather than start from an AI score.
- You want the interview on your own domain. Hireflix sells custom domains. VoxScreen doesn't have them, so the candidate page stays on ours.

Truffle
Truffle is candidate screening software combining resume screening, one-way video interviews and talent assessments, all drawing on a single monthly credit pool. A resume screen costs 1 credit, an assessment 2, and a one-way interview 5.
Starter is $49/mo billed monthly with 200 credits and a hard cap. Core is $99/mo billed annually with 7,200 credits a year, Team $199/mo, Scale $499/mo, and rollover plus $0.25 overage credits above Starter. The trial is 7 days and 30 credits, no card.
Pick Truffle if
- Resume screening is the bottleneck, not the interview. Truffle prices that as its cheapest action.
- Your volume swings month to month and credit rollover is worth more to you than a fixed allowance.
- You want assessments and interviews measured in one budget not two subscriptions.

Willo
Willo is a British one-way interview platform with 18+ interview languages, an assessment library, custom scorecards, anti-cheat controls, ISO 27001 certification and a long list of enterprise ATS integrations.
Willo Lite is $59 per live role per month, capped at 5 live roles, 5 users and 150 assessed candidates per role. Willo Enterprise is an annual contract from $3,229 to $3,799 a year depending on term. There is no free plan. The split between the two is worth reading carefully: Lite covers the assessment library, email and SMS invites and 18+ languages, but custom branding, custom scorecards, anti-cheat, the open API and downloadable responses are all marked as Enterprise features on their pricing page.
Pick Willo if
- You need ISO 27001, SSO, MFA and a dedicated success manager to clear procurement.
- You need ID, right-to-work or background checks in the same flow. They aren't bundled — Enterprise draws them from a credit balance and Lite sells them as add-ons — but no comparable step exists in VoxScreen at all.
- You interview in languages beyond the five VoxScreen covers. Willo lists 18+.

Which one to look at first
If you want the suite, minus the quote process: Spark Hire is the closest thing here with published numbers. $249/mo for video interviewing billed annually, $335/mo for the ATS.
If you only ever used the pre-recorded interviews: that step alone is available from $13.99/mo at OneWayInterview, free at VoxScreen up to 50 candidates a month, $49/mo at Truffle and $75/mo at Hireflix. Buying a suite for one module is the most common way to overpay in this category.
If you need what makes VidCruiter unusual, stay. The published VPAT is genuinely rare here and is the right answer in a public-sector bid. Automated reference checking and video proctoring aren't on any single-purpose tool on this page.
If accessibility is the requirement, check the replacement's VPAT before the price. VoxScreen doesn't publish one, and neither do most of the tools listed above.
Common questions
How much does VidCruiter cost?
VidCruiter doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page is a form, and the quote depends on which modules you take. There is no stated entry price, free plan or trial length on the public site, which is why this page leaves those cells empty instead of repeating a number from a review site.
What is a simpler alternative to VidCruiter?
Any of the single-purpose one-way interview tools, if the pre-recorded interviews are the part you actually use. VoxScreen is free to 50 candidates a month and then $39/mo, Hireflix is $75/mo for unlimited interviews, OneWayInterview is $13.99/mo annually. None of them does scheduling, reference checking, proctoring or applicant tracking, that's exactly the trade.
Which VidCruiter alternatives do accessibility properly?
This is the row worth checking instead of assuming. VidCruiter publishes a VPAT, which very few vendors in this category do. If accessibility conformance is a procurement requirement, ask each vendor for their VPAT before comparing anything else — and note that VoxScreen doesn't publish one either.
Do the alternatives include an ATS?
Spark Hire does, from $335/mo, and HireVue and Jobma are enterprise platforms with tracking built in. VoxScreen, Hireflix, Truffle, OneWayInterview, Hirevire and Willo are all screening tools that hand off to whatever ATS you already run, usually through an API, webhooks or Zapier.
VoxScreen makes one of the tools on this page, so read the ranking with that in mind. Every competitor figure comes from that vendor's own public pages, read on the date shown in their section, and every section says when they're the better buy. Products and prices change. Check their site before you decide.
